Stormraven Showcase
This kit has been a pleasure to build and paint. The engines and weapons are movable parts and you have plenty of options to equip the gunship with. The weapons are easy to interchange so it becomes a very flexible heavy choice. When you compare it to it's ground equivalent, the land raider, it's weapon options are far superior.
I have seen people have issue with it's lack of aerodynamic shape, I don't really have a problem with it personally. In person the model looks elegant enough whilst echoing the iconic Thunderhawk look in a scaled down, affordable kit. I think it is aesthetically quite strong, especially when viewed in tandem with Stormtalon escorts. The Stormeagle kit from Forgeworld is beautiful and sleek with it's extended hull but is it really anymore aerodynamic? I'm not an engineer but they both look pretty blocky compared to a real life aircraft. I think the paint scheme I chose helps keep the form look sleek. Making the engine and wing sections black and bronze makes the brighter body appear more streamlined.
I am nearly done with the Stormtalon escort craft that will complete the Adeptus Astartes Storm Wing. Hopefully this week they will be sorted, and I'll get shots of them all together.
